Outpatient Endoscopy Center
This specialized outpatient center offers endoscopic examinations and interventions using a flexible endoscope. Gastroscopy is principally recommended for diagnostic purposes in cases of reflux or inflammatory gastrointestinal disease. Colonoscopy is used for early identification of colon cancer. If intestinal polyps are found, these can be removed as part of the same procedure.
Gastroscopy and colonoscopy are completely painless. As outpatient services they are covered by most Austrian insurance funds. Following light sedation, patients recover in a quiet room which is set aside for this purpose.
Making an appointment
Appointments can be made online or by telephone. All appointments are allocated upon receipt of the inquiry (regardless of whether you are a social insurance patient or a private patient).
If you are under 25 or over 80 years old, please make your appointment by telephone.
For patients with serious underlying diseases such as:
- COPD
- Asthma
- Severe heart disease
- Obesity
